There are so many signs and reasons why an individual will need weight loss, one of them is that a person is either overweight or obese. Another reason to seek weight loss is if a family doctor or a concerned friend/relation mentions it. Agreeably, one might get embarrassed when someone walks up to you and say "hey you are FAT, you need to lose some weight", but one thing to keep in mind is that the individual pointing this out might really be more concern about your health than the physical appearance, because believe it or not, HEALTH happens to be the major reason why we should seek weight loss, the physical appearance is secondary. So if you've been told before by anyone (doctor or friend) that you need to lose some weight, my advice is, give it a critical thought and resolve to work it out.
Now to the physical appearance, this is another good reason to think about losing weight. If your clothes no longer fits in and of course the shape is disappearing (ladies things), then you certainly need to lose weight. Did I hear someone say 'who cares'? a lot of people do (spouse, fiance, friends, relations and even your colleagues and co-students). We can't deceive ourselves, there is this confidence that comes with 'looking good'. When you are all dressed up and standing in front of the mirror, and what is staring back at you is a shapeless and flabby image, out the window flew the confidence. No one likes that, certainly not I.
Another good point to note is that some simple tasks or activities, like going up the stairs, walking a little distance and maybe a little jugging seems to take the breath out of some people to the point of fainting. This does not necessarily means a weight problem, but if you constantly find yourself in this condition, it could just be a sign that you need to lose some weight.
The signs mentioned above are just a few out of the many signs that indicate one need to lose weight. Just in case you happen to be one of the people who needs this, I will advise you proceed with caution. The issue is, there are so many weight loss products out there ranging from diet pills to exercise equipment, and the fact is most do not work.
